Warrior was an American professional wrestler, who most famously wrestled under the ring name The Ultimate Warrior for the World Wrestling Federation from 1987 to 1991 and again in 1992 and 1996. During his 1998 stint in World Championship Wrestling, he was known as The Warrior. Jim Hellwig, better known by his wrestling nickname “The Ultimate Warrior,” died suddenly on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. As was the case for many WWE performers during the 1980s, Warrior did not start out hoping to be a wrestling champion. Another #garagegym workout. Since my knee is being lame I’m working on box squats a little above parallel for a while since this causes very little discomfort. The home-made sissy squat setup is a nice tool to add more variety to my workouts at home without fancy gym equipment. Happy Thursday! I was driving downtown this morning and decided to take the lake route. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and all the boats were in the harbor. I feel like I’m writing a poem right now haha, but anyways- Looking at the city in front of me and the gorgeous lake right next to me made me think about how grateful I am to live in such a beautiful city with so many amazing people and opportunities. So I encourage you all to take a moment to appreciate your surroundings. No matter where you may be right now in your life, taking time to express gratitude will always benefit you in one way or another. I’ve talked a lot about how busy I’ve been lately and how I haven’t been super consistent with my workouts. Well- I’m going to be honest... I didn’t want to post this workout because I felt weak and “out of shape” for lack of better words. I’m not out of shape by any means, but since I haven’t been consistent in the gym or with my diet, my performance isn’t where it usually is. But- I’m here to share my journey. I’m here to show you all that we can’t be perfect. Don’t let yourself get discouraged if you wander off your path for a little bit. I went for a recovery run this morning, mostly because @dani.larson getting up at 6am to go to spin made me feel rather lazy. We are almost to the weekend and thank God because I need a mental break. I’m exhausted from this week. Katherine today called me a “hot mess” 😂 There is just a lot going on and it’s really hard to keep it all straight! So I did something for myself today that I felt guilty doing but I’m glad I did..... Early this morning I got a speed workout done on the treadmill so that I could attend the 9:30 class @crossfitsyracuse. If I’m honest, I felt overwhelmed and looking at the WOD on the board didn’t really help that feeling. But seeing my friends there was the distraction I needed to finish. So happy I rearranged the day to stop in there. 😊 Today’s workouts 1️⃣ 20MinWU/30Min at MP/ 10 min CD 2️⃣ 5 Rounds 20 alt DB Hang Power Clean & overhead 20# 16 alt Front Rack DB Reverse Lunges 25# 12 Box Jumps 20in I’ll be sore- that is a lot of upper body for me. Short answer, yes. ⠀ ..⠀ It may sound unrealistic but you can be getting results and getting thinner without the scale changing at all. It is important to understand the difference between just losing weight and losing fat.⠀ When you start strength training regularly, especially as beginners, you can start gaining muscle and losing fat...altogether not losing much, if any on the scale.⠀ BUT! This is ok...and actually better! Changing your body composition for the better by losing body fat and gaining muscle will help you get better results. ⠀ ..⠀ Building muscle is what helps give your body SHAPE and tone. When you see a toned physique, you are seeing muscle! ⠀ There may be FASTER ways to lose weight but they probably aren't better. Just losing weight could be you losing water and even muscle! ⠀ 🔹The problem with only focusing on the scale is that it doesn't tell you all of these things. We give it too much power believing that if that number doesn't change, we aren't getting results. ⠀ 🔹You don't have to totally ditch the scale but use other measurement methods as well! ⠀ -Measure your arms, waist, hips, bust, and thigh.
