But what people DON’T realize is that your rear delts (rear shoulder) is what REALLY gives your shoulders a more complete look! 😳 Since your rear delts are the smallest part of your shoulder, I recommend incorporating 2-3 rear delt exercises in your shoulder workout to maximize its development 👍🏼 The Dumbbell Rear Delt Row (exercise shown here) is an EXCELLENT exercise for the rear delts 💪🏼 In this variation I have my forehead on the top of the bench to minimize swing and cheating👌🏼 Compared to a regular Dumbbell Row you actually want to bring your hand more forward around the upper chest to clavicle area. From there Row back creating a 90 degree angle with your elbows to end the movement. If you feel the burn on your shoulder blades and not your rear delts, it’s because you have the Dumbbells to low and need to move them higher at the start of the movement. ✖️Block 4 Primary SBD Day✖️ — Today was the first SBD day of block 4 and the first SBD day I’ve ever done. I decided to do a SBD day for my final two blocks of this macrocycle for more comp specificity. I usually spilt up my lifts between upper and lower or squat and bench on one day then deadlift on their own. I really enjoyed having a SBD day and I most likely will stick with this lay out from here on out unless my schedule changes and I can’t make time for it. — For today’s workout I had top sets of double @ 6 on all three lifts with back down percentages for volume. I can honestly say I stayed true to the RPE on all of my top sets today. I really focused on controlling the eccentric of each lift and exploding at the bottom as fast as possible. I was doing this to ensure I was in the most optimal position to produce the most force instead of going a little faster with the eccentric and winding up being out of position throwing the whole lift off. I feel like this approach will take some time to get used to, but over time will make me a better lifter. — Today’s top sets were as follows: -Squat 250# -Bench 155# I really wanted to go up, but chose to be responsible. -Deadlift 290# All for doubles @ 6 — Try slowing down your eccentrics on your main lifts and see if you see any strength improvements.
