IGOR: album by Tyler the Creator.
First off, I can't think of any artist that has come as far as Tyler has. From the extremely harsh and dark vibes of Goblin, to creating beautuful albums in Flower Boy & Igor that anyone can enjoy, it's remarkable. The production on this album is a 10/10, which is 100% done by Tyler himself. When it officially goes #1, he will become the first rapper to earn that spot with 100% of the production credits. After this project, Tyler needs to be in the conversation for best PRODUCER of this era. The way he uses features on Igor is perfect, they all add to their tracks, without taking the spotlight. Sometimes theyre even unrecognizable and you find new appearances every listen. As for Tyler's vocals, they are unlike anything we have heard from him before. He really taps into his R&B side, as there are very few rap verses on the album. His vocals are usually distorted sonically, or hidden behind the instrumental. I think he picked that up from his buddy Earl on SRS. It's nice to hear Tyler continue to experiment with his sound. Every artist needs to continue to do so, or they will get old. Content wise, it is nice to hear Tyler dive deeper into his vulnerable side that he teased on Flower Boy. The main theme in the first half is falling in love, and the second half describes losing it. The last 3 tracks are absolutely beautiful, and "are we still friends" is the best closing track ive heard in years. I love the scream he ends it with to remind you that Tyler, is still Tyler. .
Easssily AOTY so far, and will be hard to top.
Best tracks: I think, New Magic Wand, Puppet, What's Good, Gone Gone/Thank You. (All of them are great but
those are my top 5) -
Weakest tracks: Exactly What You Run From You End up Chasing
